These photos were taken a couple of days after the last storm (daylight), and yesterday evening around 7 PM. They show the new pedestrian refuge island on Sligo Avenue – still covered by snow and inaccessible to anyone. This piece of infrastructure worked so well until the snow, when it failed completely, and actually may have added to problems at times. Still, it did reduce vehicle speeds, which is always a help.
