Last night my Daughter, Rachel and I walked down Georgia Avenue on our way to KFC – just inside the DC line across from Jessup-Blair Park. The sidewalk in front of the park wasn’t cleared, and we had to walk against traffic on Georgia Avenue – in the dark. Playing Chicken on Georgia Avenue with traffic, hmmm... what was I thinking?
Combined with the snow-bound sidewalk on the NE corner of Georgia Avenue and East-West Highway, I’d say that we walked a total of 100 yards. in the street getting there and back.. No medals for us, though. Only surprise that the sidewalks were not cleared 8 days after the snow, and the adrenalin rush that comes from surviving an ordeal. Traffic was heavy and fast, and we were inches-away from the vehicles at times.
If you are a pedestrian be careful when you go out. Things are still not right, and a bucket of chicken isn’t worth your life!
