I made several calls to government over the last week - trying to get help making the way clear for pedestrians in downtown Silver Spring. See, it is the holidays and we had plans that included venturing-out.
I was very disheartened by the lack of assistance availible to pedestrians when the proverbial s&&t hits the fan. I have yet to hear-back from a few of the people I called - even nine days later. Could it be that this storm scrambled "the system" that badly? The roads seem to have been cleared quickly-enough. After that, everything just stopped.
Left to our own devices over Christmas. Will there be some discussion of this that leads to an improved reaction? It's time for new legislation and policy - not more talk.
